Nail Can Reveal Your Health

Nail Can Reveal Your Health

Your fingernails can provide clues to your overall health. For an instance, when our body is healthy, nails can grow well. Fingernails and toenails are far away from the heart but they are linked venule with arteriole without capillary vessels.

The region directly linked venula with arteriole is called glomerulus. Now that such glomerulus is largely distributed, problems in the liver, lungs and heart can show up in your nails.

Healthy nails are usually 0,5mm thick, hard and transparent pink. When you press the fingernails, at first they turn white and then return to their original color within 3 seconds.

If it takes longer than 3 seconds, it may be doubt of the following health problems: anemia, lack of hormone, menstrual pains or irregular menstruation. In addition, when the color of the fingernails are close to pale white without pink, it may be doubt of malnutrition or tuberculosis.

That's why proper nail care is very important. In general, women give attention to care for fingernails: they have their nails grow well and they paint the nails with pretty colors. No matter how clean you keep your long nails, it is difficult to prevent the propagation of bacteria.

The longer the nails, the more bacteria may increase. According to dermatology's data, the major bacteria in the fingernails are as follows: bacillus pneumonia, a urinary infection, yeasts that cause blood infection and staphylococcus.

When you cut the fingernails, it is good to leave about 1-2mm distal edge. On cold and dry days, the fingernails are apt to get cracked and chapped just like hands. If your nail cuticle is easily flaky and splitting, it may signal insufficient nutrition of the fingernail.

To keep your fingernails moist and glossy, it is necessary to use hand cream on hands and moisturize the nails with cuticle cream. Also, you should cut nails straight across if possible and take a close look at the shape and color of the nails while cutting them. Easy and correct habits are conductive to good health.

I hope you will stay healthy through simple and easy ways.
