An Iranian Woman was Hanged in Iran for Murder Alleged Rapist Despite International Pleas

"I am telling you from the bottom of my heart that I don't want to have a grave for you to come and mourn there and suffer."

Reyhaneh Jabbari, an Iranian woman, was executed on suspicion of murder of a man she claimed had tried to sexually abuse her. In heartbreaking message to her mother Sholeh, Reyhaneh expressed her love and concern for mother.

When the message was open to the public, people felt pity for that Reyhaneh finished her short life of 26 years old not being admitted her plea of self-defence.On October 25, the execution day, National Council of Resistance of Iran released Reyhaneh's will in a voice message she had recorded for her mother.

Reyhaneh confessed her sufferings in the will as follows: "I don't want you to wear black clothing for me. Do your best to forget my difficult days. Give me to the wind to take away."

Also, Reyhaneh said that she wanted to give her internal organs to someone who needs them as a gift."I don't want to rot under the soil. I don't want my eyes or my young heart to turn into dust." She added a few more words to those who would be donated, "I don't want the recipient know my name, buy me a bouquet, or even pray for me."
Reyhaneh appealed for unfairness by saying,"If I hadn't stabbed the man, my body would have thrown in some corner of the city after having been raped."

In addition she criticized the stern realities of Iran."The murderer would have never been found since we don't have their wealth and their power."

The accident that had occurred in 2007 reversed Reyhaneh's life. Reyhaneh, 19-year-old, an interior designer, followed a man who had offered to hire her to redesign his office to an empty appartment. The man named Morteze Abdolai Sarbandi was a former employee in the Iran's Intelligence Ministry. As soon as they entered the house, Sarbandi allegedly tried to rape her. At that moment Reyhaneh took a pen knife out of her bag and stabbed him with it for the purpose of escaping from the urgent situation. And then Sarbandi died.
Reyhaneh had admitted stabbing the man once from behind to defend herself but she insisted another man killed him. However Iran's Supreme Court sentenced her to death as follow: In that she had purchased the knife two days before committing murder, it was definitely a deliberate murder. Reyhaneh's plea of self-defence was disregarded by judges.

Reyhaneh Jabbari's death has occasioned some disquiet across the world. The Prosecution which should work for the sake of the national human rights and safety put an underprivileged woman to death to protect their agent. It is natural that this incident should incur blame for injustice treatment.

In spite of crying out for human rights and peace movements, such affairs are to be met with everywhere. Besides even at this moment such bad things could happen somewhere. As we are indifferent to such unjust affairs. They could occur continuously regarding them as lawfulness. All of our attention and efforts on the issue of injustice are truly needed. Thus, as a member of IPYG, I hope that IPYG will take the initiative in working. Let us all strive to make a safe and peace world with IPYG.
