IPYG logo

Below is a breakdown of the meaning behind our IPYG logo

White Dove
Key words: HOPE, MESSENGER OF PEACE, ETERNAL TRUCE
Explanation: Known to be a fairly hardy bird that can adapt and settle in almost any environment, our dove represents the hope that peace too, will settle in all nations. It also stands for the innocent, pure-hearted messengers of peace. These messengers are our youth who are aiming to serve all mankind around the world by mending the past and bringing peace. The white of the dove symbolizes our sincere call for peace, surrendering in wars and calling an eternal truce.

Open Wings
Key words: SELFLESS SERVICE, PROTECTION, EMBRACE ALL, INVITATION
Explanation: Our message of peace and selfless service must stretch to the ends of the earth. We aim to protect those who come after us from the wars humanity has suffered, and we are embracing all religions, genders, cultures, languages with open arms and inviting you to join us. When we can all work together peace will prevail in all corners of our world.

On Top of Globe
Key words: OWNERSHIP, DUTY, RESPONSIBILITY
Explanation: We know that in order for things to change we need to take responsibility for our words, our actions and for taking care of our communities. By taking ownership of the world and all of its problems it falls upon our generation to be people who do something truly great. With this mentality we will treat all life as though it were our own.

Light Behind the Dove
Key words: SUPPORT, UNITE, NEW ERA
Explanation: All of the heavens and earth are backing this work for peace, and supporting positive change. This is symbolized through the light shining from behind the dove. When each person embraces the light (cultures) of others, we can move and work in unity, like the dawning of a new day to bring an eternally peaceful era.

Blue Sky
Key words: EQUALITY, VOLUNTEER, TRUST, CULTURE OF PEACE
Explanation: The clear and bright, cloudless sky signifies a transparent trust that all nations can share and dwell peacefully within. There are no wars, prejudices or conflicts in the heavens only vast and endless life provided unconditionally, regardless of our recognition or thanks. The life that heaven gives us through light, air and rain are such simple forces of nature yet without these things none of us can survive. This is a perfect example of a true volunteer, someone whose human nature is to serve and love humbly and continuously. It is the youth with this quality that will bring about a new, shared culture of peace.

Globe
Key words: ALL NATIONS, RESTORE, HOME
Explanation: The globe is a symbol of every nation, language and religion. Although we have our unique differences we aim to break down the borders that divide us in wars. Our pledge is to serve all people, without exception, to restore faith in humanity and live in harmony. We breathe the same air, and walk the same earth - this whole earth is ours, OUR HOME!

ipyg-Islamic State (IS)

These days some parts of Mideast and America are in the situation, where they has received attention from Islamic State (IS).  In the early 2000s it started as a terrorist group and a rebel force that served in Syrian civil war and Iraq civil war. Valuable members are Sunni Arab, and IS is active mostly in Iraq and Syria. The aim of this group is the revival of Authentic Caliph and the conquest of the world by Islam.

As a group of Islamic extremism, it insists that unIslamic be rejected and its target is the whole world except Islam. It also has destroyed souvenirs, remains, and cultural properties that IS regarded as an idol.
In addition, because Syrian Christianity does not fast during Ramadan, IS has killed them by crucifixion.  IS has trained military use of children (child soldier) systematically, get children to point guns and incited them to shoot to kill.
The local christian community says IS has killed children systematically. Actually, IS has beheaded children and cut off their parents’ heads. These deeds are regarded as evil ones and it is reported that IS members displayed beheaded children’s heads on a skewer. Because IS thinks everything except Islam is cult on their own judgment, they have done such things.. Voices of concern are getting louder and louder in the international community. The international community judged they should unite to deal with the evil deeds of IS because it is not a religious persecution, but a crime.

The following is the scene that IS is slaughtering Syria troops. Caution – It is so cruel.

Now, in the Middle East, things unimaginable are happening. Through these things I think the righteous conviction of individuals, groups, religions, and nation is more important than any other thing. I hope peace comes to the Middle East a‘powder keg'.

ipyg-People's face in the world without wars

These days when I watch world news, I let out a sigh.
We can see people dying from all over the world due to the war.

If the war disappears, wouldn’t we live and smile like the boy in the picture?

The child lying in a flower garden of a peaceful world without worries looks so happy.

How can we laugh like this innocent child?

 '
The elderly couple smiling in harmony looks very friendly.

This child seems to be 10 year old in an elementary school.
I’d like to leave a world without wars as a legacy to the next generation.

When I get older, I want to take a picture with the whole family smiling at a peaceful world.

I’d like to go to the aquarium with my children and look at fish together.

I want to listen to my children’s story about their dream.

I would like to hand down this smile without worries at this peaceful world to posterity.
In order to achieve it, I feel that, first of all, I have to think and practice.

ipyg-Surprising Uses of Baking Soda

Today, we have an essential item in our daily life. It is Baking Soda, which has a spotlight on as an all round household item. Id like to introduce how to use baking soda.

Uses of Baking Soda

1. Getting rid of calluses on feet
We try to get rid of callus on the heel and the front part of the bottom of the foot and scratch them in bathroom by soaking our feet in water. However, they cannot be washed away perfectly and appear again. Now, soak your feet in the water of two spoons of baking soda for a bout 10 minutes and rinse them gently in a circular motion with a towel. Then the callus will just be peeled off . What the key to old calluses!

2 Dental Bleaching (Teeth whitening)
When you brush your teeth, squeeze a little toothpaste on the brush and dip it in baking soda. After one month, your teeth will become white. In addition, it kills odors.

3. Deodorizing (Removing bad odors)
Put some baking soda in smelly shoes and garbage bag and the bad odors will be removed. Plus! When your pets smell bad, sprinkle baking soda on them and just comb them. Put one or two spoons of baking soda in a disposable cup and cover it with plastic wrap. Then, prick several holes on the wrap. Just place that in your fridge. The bad odor will be gone.

4. Removing old stains
Frying pans covered in grease, gas stoves stained with oil, the bathroom floor and the toilet will be shiny with baking soda paste. Pour baking soda in the sink tub drain and run warm water on it. Then, bad odor and old saints gone from it, too.

5. Good to your skin
After filling the bathtub for kids, put a half cup of baking soda (a quarter cup for infants). Then it helps relieve the itching. Mixing baking soda and starch will make your body hydrated. In addition, baking soda works for heat rash and atopy.

ipyg-17th Asian Games Incheon 2014 – Efforts pursuing Peace of All Mankind

In a few days, a festival for Asian, 17th Asian Games will be held in Incheon. Since it is held in South Korea, attention from all Koreans will be necessary in order to make it a successful event. Now, let's find out the schedule for the games.

The competition will be held from September 19th to October 14th, 2014, for 16 days, and the opening ceremony will be carried out at Incheon Asiad Stadium, South Korea. Approximately 13,000 athletes from 45 countries will participate in total of 36 games including both Olympic and non-olympic items. If you are a fan of sports, you will be interested in all of the games, but I think the most popular ones will definitely be football and baseball. I personally look forward to watching those two as well.

By the way, let me introduce this year's Asian Game mascots, three seal brothers and sisters.

They are so cute! Barame, Chumuro, Vichuon? What do these mean?

Actually, every name has a meaning. They are not named randomly.
The first seal, Vichuon means light— it means to shine the light of hope all over the world.
The second seal named Brame came from a Korean word, Baram which means the wind—to show passion and challenging spirit like the power of wind.
The last seal, Chumuro's name came from a Korean word Chum, 'dance'—to deliver the beauty of the Korean tradition with amusement through the culture and games of Incheon city.

Now, I am going to introduce Incheon main stadium where the opening ceremony will be held.

The stadium looks very magnificent and awesome.  If you visit in person, it will be more amazing than in the photo. Incheon Asian Games will take place with the slogan, “Breath of Peace, Future of Asia”.  It is to gather all the diverse cultures, history, tradition, and religions in Asia pursuing peace of all mankind and to make a bright future for Asia as one, through friendship and harmony.

But, I wonder even though the Asian games hoping for peace is on for the 17 time, why are wars and murders still happening in many countries?

It makes me think 'Can events like Asian games really bring peace to this world?'.
Maybe there might be other ways that can achieve peace.

So, I was surfing the internet about the Asian Games and then, I found IPYG. This group works for world peace with practical activities. I found out that they’ve held peace walk in Philippines, Korea and other countries. People in the pictures look so bright and happy as if they’ve already gotten true peace in their minds.

I think that this organization, IPYG could bring about peace in the world.  As one who loves peace, I feel like I am getting more interested in this group and I want to look forward to hearing good news from them.

ipyg-Romeo and Juliet in the Middle East version

In your childhood, you would have heard Romeo and Juliet story at least once. The love story between the two main characters is very touching.
Today, I want to introduce a similar love story that happened in the Middle East. That is the Middle East version of Romeo and Juliet.

Two main character’s nationality in the Middle East version of Romeo and Juliet is Palestinian and Israel. The two countries have disputed for many years due to religious conflicts.
Furthermore, the heroine in this story is an Israeli Jewish woman and the hero is a Palestinian Muslim man. It has been 5 years for them to love each other and finally they became a couple as they got married in last August 17th.

However, the wedding should be celebrated but it became a hot topic around the world. That’s because of their religion.
Before the wedding day, Israeli Jewish woman changed her religion to Islam following her husband’s religion. And then, Israel’s far-right organization named Lehava warned the couple. That group threatened the couple, saying “We will kill you.” and  “We will demonstrate on your wedding day”. Thus, the couple called for the prohibition of the far-right group’s demonstration to the court.
However, as a result, their request was rejected.

So, the couple had looked for other way to ensure their safety. Eventually, they employed thirty security guards on the wedding day.
For this, the total cost that they spent on them was $ 120,000, $ 4,000 per person.

Maybe their wedding could be seemed like a celebrity’s wedding because there were bodyguards and they spent a lot of money on it. But the two people who got married are just a normal couple.
The only one reason that makes their marriage kind of a big problem is just a religious difference.  However, there was nothing that can stop their love. Also, they said their love was growing more and became hotter while they went through these things. .

The Israel and Palestine
The Jewish and Muslim…
Isn’t it a really sensitive issue? The war between them is still going on.

But, I bless the marriage of the two people.

ipyg-Famous Vacation Place – Busan

These days, many people take a trip to relieve stress or refresh from work during summer vacation. So, today I’ll introduce a famous vacation place for you.
It is Busan, South Korea’s second city and first trade port.

Haeundae, Busan

Haeundae is the most famous place in Busan. When summer comes, many people go on a summer vacation to Haeundae with friends, families and lovers.

Scenery of Fireworks Festival

Second place is Gwangalli. You can reach there to cross over the Gwangan bridge from Haeundae. The Gwangan bridge and the fireworks festival is really famous.
I strongly recommend Gwangalli if you want to watch magnificent fireworks.

Gamcheon Culture Village

Lastly, I recommend Gamcheon Culture Village which you can make moments memorable. At first glance, I felt as if I were in a fairy tale. The whole village can be a tourist attraction.
At its entrance, you can see a lot of pieces of art showing ingenious abilities of many artists like a big fish consist of many tiles in piece, a sculpture of which head is human but body is bird’s.

Also, Lots of houses decorated with sky-blue paint and many murals are gathered in this village. It seems very adorable.

However, you need to be in a kind manner because Busan is not only a vacation place but also a residence itself.

I think how wonderful it is for you and its residents to be considerate to each other. :)

How about travelling and feeling Busan right after reading this posting?
