Ebola virus (EBOV, formerly designated Zaire ebolavirus)

Ebola virus (EBOV, formerly designated Zaire ebolavirus)

The whole world has been shaking with fright because of Ebola virus. Those who became infected with Ebola virus are getting more and more.  About 14,000 people have been infected and about 5,000 people died based on last Oct 27th. Ebola virus infection was discovered in the Republic of Zaire in 1976. It caused about 600 patients through Zaire and Sudan for a year. Through this, Ebola turned into one of the strongest virus diseases.

Symptoms of Ebola virus

The disease which Ebola virus causes is called Ebola fever and hemorrhagic fever. It was named because it makes features of having fever and bleeding in case that organ is infected.

Pop culture has a great affect that Ebola virus became a terror to the public
Outbreak is a 1995 American medical disaster film directed by Wolfgang Petersen. Its content is African monkeys infected with fatal virus carried from Africa to America, and then they spread infection disease.
Film- Outbreak
There is no the name of Ebola virus in this move, but the virus like Ebola appeared, so it led me think Ebola virus. Until now, there is no vaccine, but a few days ago, two nurses infected Ebola have completely cured. It was said that receiving from another survivor’ serum is the main reason.
This case like miracle is as pretty rare as Obama met.

As the term of global Era, the disease discovered in one country has affected whole nations. I hope vaccine and cure of Ebola virus, terror, will be developed and patients who are fighting with Ebola will be cured completely.

Restarted terrorist bombing in Sinai Peninsula

Restarted terrorist bombing in Sinai Peninsula

Terrorist bombing on 24 in Sinai Peninsula killed 30 Egyptian militants. This accident made the most casualties since former president of Egypt, Mohamed Morsis ouster by the military. The place was where have been through terrorist bombing, 3 koreans who were visiting Holy Land and 1 korean driver were killed and 15 korean were victimized.

For this reason Egyptian president declared a state of emergency and curfew to some areas of Sinai Peninsula. Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, Islamic extremists armed group claimed responsibility for this bombing.

Sinai Peninsula is a triangle shaped peninsula between Mediterranean and Red sea. Mount Sinai in Sinai Peninsula is known for the place where Moses got the Ten Commandments. But, unfortunately this place is being a center of terror. I think religions should embrace everything. These terrible terrorism are happening again and again because people think only their own religion is the best.

Most of wars are mostly caused by religious conflicts. Thats why IPYG attended WARP which aims to end wars and unite all religions, races and countries. I hope religions become one and work to save people. For the goal, IPYG is trying harder.

IPYG - Do you know chia seed?

Do you know chia seed?

Watching TV, I learned about chia seed by chance. So, I want to talk about its effect and the way to eat.

Chia seed is a seed of chia, South America’s super food. It is good for relieving fatigue, anti-age, special diet, avoiding adult’s illness, large intestine, regulation of blood glucose and antioxidant effect. In addition, it is rich in magnesium, omega-3 fatty acid, mineral, folic acid, potassium, calcium and dietary fiber. So if you keep eating it, it can help you stay healthy. How to eat chia seed. 1.Stir and fry for 1 to 3 minutes over a medium heat.2.Drink any beverages with this.(Chia seeds absorb water, so it makes you feel full.)3.Spread it on your bread. If chia seed is put in water, it will grow in size more than 10 times.Eat 1 part water to 6 part chia seed, after waiting 10-15 minutes. You can get it in any supermarkets for about $9~15.

Basil seed (reft), chia seed( right) -> after 8hours.

In this opportunity, I hope that you stay healthy and recover your shape.

Those who have different religions, but same minds - Novel peace prize winners 2014.

Those who have different religions,

but same minds.

Novel peace prize winners 2014.

Nobel prize winners stories made a great flutter. The most interest of them is a Nobel prize for peace. This year, there are two winners. One is just a 17 years old girl, which made headline. More amazing thing is she started the work for peace at the age of 11.

Someone in the news is Malala Yousafzai. This girl living in Pakistan posted the content about “Women have a right to receive an education” on her blog in 2009, and then BBC and New York Times reported that. Since then, she was shoot by Taliban which is group that ban for women to go to school. Dramatically, however, she survived and then brave girl who has still struggled for the right that women receive education.

If I were shoot and survived like her, could I give my opinion to the world? Because she deserved to be won, many people give it up for her.

The other is Kailash satyarthi, who is a 60 years old man living in India and battled away against Child Exploitation with nonviolence. He led opposite demonstration of child forced labor, and he saved child slavery and rehabilitated. He got credit for those. He founded the group; ‘Save Children”, and over 80,000 children

have been saved out of forced labor, received education , and

provided opportunities in the way of getting their living by this

group since 1983.

“Two winners who have different religions (Islam and Hinduism) battle for women education and against child exploitation, which is the most meaningful”, Novel peace prize committee said. Whoever young women like Kailash Satyarthi and old men like Kailash satyarthi can try to work for world peace. Being interested in peace and watching people doing peace movements can also be peace work.
So, we can a peace activist as a member of IPYG. I hope people who concern about peace will become more and more with IPYG.

What is Halloween different from Day of the Dead?

What is Halloween different from Day of the Dead?

In search of Halloween history, I found similarity between Day of the Dead and Halloween. In both celebrations people dress up in costumes in the images of skeletons and death everywhere.  But the differences between two celebrations; Halloween is being afraid of the dead and Day of the Dead is celebrating the dead.

Day of the Dead is from the Aztec culture in South American cultures.  It is a holiday for people to honor their ancestors and loved ones who have passed away and invite those spirits back into their homes.  They pay their respects to their loved ones by tending to their graves, cleaning up graveyards, planting flowers and trees and leaving offerings at the graves.  They build altars in their homes to honor their loved ones.

This celebration is very similar to Korean Lunar Moon Harvest day.  It is one of the two Korean annual celebrating days.  On Lunar Moon Harvest day, all the families gather at their parents’ house, build altars and give offerings to the ancestors who have passed away. We also visit the graveyards and cut the weeds on the grave and plant flowers.  I found it very interesting that we have similarity in culture although we live in different area of the earth.  Maybe it is because we have one ancestor far back in the creation of the earth.  If we are from one ancestor, we are global family all in all.  Family is founded on the love and respect.  If we love and respect each other, world peace will be achieved.

As a member of IPYG, I am proud of IPYG because the motto of IPYG is love and respect and we actively work for the world peace. I wish IPYG would be increased in order to make the world unite into true family.

Maternal love that protected her baby even in her last moment

Maternal love that protected her baby even in her last moment

Recently, an American woman was gunned down by his drunken live-in lover. Firearm accidents are common in America. But there is a special reason why this accident is in the news a lot these days.

Let me reveal the whole story. The criminal and the woman were in a common law marriage relationship. At the time, the drunken criminal got mad, when quarreling with her and he struck her with a baseball bat. She shielded her baby with her body desperately to protect her baby. Then he tried to take the baby away from her, so she felt threatened and ran away to bathroom. But she was gunned down. Although being gunned down on her head, she tried to collapse on toilet instead of floor to protect her baby.

Maternal love that protected her baby even in her last moment is making people feel sorry not only in America, also all over the world.
